'Don't change your dreams, change your strategy!
Hello, my name is Pietro and I'm a CCNP network technician. I am currently employed at a major bank in Milan where I am in a team of young professionals in charge of designing and maintaining the network of regional branches.
My work includes the configuration of Cisco’s network equipment, connectivity, network data, and VoIP performances’ troubleshooting and problem solving.
I used to work in a different field (for many years I provided transportation services).
Information technology has always been my passion since childhood. I attended postgraduate courses even though I knew that becoming an IT professional at my age was quite difficult .... but I never lost hope neither my passion cooled.
I used to search the web for an IT specialization course which classes were offered during evenings or weekends, so that I could attend them while working over the week. I was more concerned about computer languages than networks, but I immediately changed my mind when I found the Europa Networking’s Cisco courses. I visited the Academy in Bergamo, together with a dear friend who also attended with me all the courses, and I joined the evening CCNA course.
At first I was a bit lost, there were a lot of things to learn ... (I still remember one evening when Rocco – my instructor- was urging me: "Ping, Pietro, Ping!" ... I looked at him very confused, as I had never used that command). But with dedication and the support of Instructors Rocco and Alberto, I could make it.
After the CCNA I was a bit worried whether I could find a job in the networking area, because I was not as young as the other students, so I decided to continue attending the CCNP courses (at present, I am taking the BCMSN course, which means that I’m about to complete the CCNP training).
To my great surprise and joy all my efforts were rewarded: I entered the world of networking!
Now not only I got a job that I like, but also I have to remove all the resumes I posted on the internet, because I keep receiving job opportunities.
Thank you, Europa Networking!
